DJ Spinall Signs with Epic Records and Drops Collaboration with Wizkid

Spinall’s latest effort, “Loju,” featuring Wizkid, marks a significant milestone in the Nigerian DJ’s music career.

Nigerian DJ and producer Spinall, who has earned a prominent position as one of Nigeria’s top DJs, recently signed a record deal with Epic Records, as officially confirmed by the company to Billboard.

Ezekiel “Zeke” Lewis, the President of Epic Records, expressed tremendous enthusiasm about this partnership, recognizing the immense potential Spinall’s collaborations hold in elevating African music to new global heights.

“Spinall is one of the continent’s finest musical exports—a preeminent curator and catalyst of culture. His collaborations have the power to propel African music to new heights worldwide, and we are incredibly thrilled about our partnership with him here at Epic,” said Ezekiel “Zeke” Lewis in a statement to Billboard.

Spinall himself expressed excitement over joining Epic Records and highlighted the overwhelming confidence and support he received from Sylvia Rhone, the CEO and chairwoman of Epic Records, and Zeke Lewis.

Transitioning from an independent career can be challenging, but after discussions with Sylvia and Zeke, Spinall felt the utmost confidence he would ever need—bringing him on board, engaging in meaningful conversations, and demonstrating genuine kindness. Sylvia and Zeke convinced him in their first meeting that he had found his home at Epic Records.

Spinall also praised the label’s track record of nurturing successful collaborations with diverse talents from around the world. He looks forward to working with like-minded individuals who share a genuine passion for music and a common vision of spreading exceptional music globally.

With this exciting new partnership, Spinall is poised to continue making significant strides in his musical journey, and Epic Records is eager to support and amplify his contributions to the global music scene.

Following the exciting news, Spinall wasted no time in delighting fans by dropping his latest single, titled “Loju,” featuring the talented Wizkid. This collaboration holds a special place in Spinall’s heart, given their history of working together to create some of the finest Afrobeats records. The DJ expressed deep respect for Wizkid’s artistry and praised his ability to collaborate seamlessly with artists across the African continent. The undeniable chemistry between Spinall and Wizkid is evident in their past joint ventures, including hit songs like “Nowo,” “Opoju,” and “Dis Love,” featuring Tiwa Savage.

“Loju” carries a unique significance as it marks another chapter in their partnership, resulting in a very special record. Spinall spoke fondly about Wizkid, acknowledging his impressive collaborations with artists all over the continent and beyond. Each time they come together, the energy is simply electric, and their friendship extends far beyond the realm of music.

This new single comes hot on the heels of Spinall’s highly acclaimed sixth studio album, “Top Boy,” which he released four months ago under his own record label and management company, TheCAP Music. Produced by the talented Blaise Beats, “Loju” takes inspiration from the vibrant Amapiano style, providing the perfect foundation for Wizkid’s signature melodies to shine.

With “Loju,” Spinall continues to solidify his position as a trailblazer in the Afrobeats scene, and fans can’t wait to witness the magic that emerges from this latest collaboration with the superstar Wizkid.
